Think Like a Futurist:
Core Skills for 2030

In today’s volatile, uncertain, complex, and ambiguous (VUCA) world, rapid technological development, economic uncertainty, geoeconomic restructuring, the green transition, and demographic shifts are gradually reshaping the future of work. This raises an important question: in such a world, how should we reimagine our careers?

In this interactive workshop, participants will think like futurists, starting from the future to imagine work scenarios in 2030, and then work backward to consider which skills they need to develop in order to remain competitive and influential in an uncertain environment.

Core Skills For 2030

The workshop is based on the World Economic Forum’s Future of Jobs Report 2025 and uses skill mapping, trend analysis, and small-group discussions to help participants understand how five global trends are driving shifts in skill demand, and to explore the most critical core skills for 2030.

Workshop Details

In this workshop, participants will: 

  • Imagining 2030 Work Scenarios to envision careers in 2030 and identify core skills 

  • Responding to Skill Shift to explore which human-centered capabilities will become increasingly critical in an era of accelerated AI development and multiple global trends

  • From Awareness to Action to translate their understanding of future skills into concrete, actionable career steps.

Duration: 120 - 150 minutes (adjustable)

Format: On-site or Online​

Target: Youth aged 18+, fresh graduates, green job professionals and career transitioners

Group Size: Ideal for 20-35 participants

  • Explore the 2030 core skills identified in the WEF Future of Jobs Report 2025

  • Understand human-centered capabilities and mindsets valued in future workplaces

  • Analyze how key trends including technological development, economic uncertainty, geoeconomic changes, the green transition, and demographic shifts are influencing future skill demand.

  • Consider how these core skills apply across professional fields and green careers, and explore concrete actions and learning pathways to translate understanding of future skills into actionable steps.
