Figure Out & Mingle Series: Future Skills Workshop for Slasher and Solopreneurs - Application

Thank you for your interest in “Figure Out & Mingle Series: Future Skills Workshop for Slasher and Solopreneurs” (the “Workshop”). Please read carefully and fill out the form below to apply for the workshop.

Workshop Overview

“Doing what you love on your own terms sounds amazing—until you actually have to manage it all by yourself.”

Working for yourself as a designer, writer, creator, or photographer sounds like the dream. You get to set your own hours and choose your own projects. But what does a normal day actually look like when you don't have a manager telling you what to do?

Choosing a freelance or solo path instead of a standard 9-to-5 gives you incredible freedom, but it also means you become your own boss, assistant, accountant, and IT department all at once. If you want to balance multiple passions without burning out, you need practical skills that school doesn't teach you.

Figure Out & Mingle is a casual space to look at the real skills you need to survive on your own, work through common everyday challenges with peers, and connect with people who share your mindset.

Come figure out what it actually takes to run your own day-to-day, test your problem-solving skills against real situations, and meet people trying to build the same lifestyle.

Workshop Details

Date: July 17, 2026 (Friday)

Time: 6:30 PM – 9:00 PM

Venue: Sleek Hong Kong Office

(Unit 2904, 29/F, Universal Trade Centre, 3 Arbuthnot Road, Central, Hong Kong)

Target: Students and young people interested in freelancing, side-hustles, or working for themselves

Objectives

  • Demystify 2030 Career Trends: Connect the dots between the World Economic Forum's 2025 Future of Jobs Report and the day-to-day reality of being a student freelancer or slasher.

  • Identify Core Skills with Work Scenarios: Help students identify and apply core, non-AI-replicable skills (like adaptability, boundary setting, and self-management) through hands-on practice.

  • Build a Support Network: Remove the pressure of stiff networking by using collaborative problem-solving to let students naturally mingle and build an accountability community.

Why You Should Come

  • Know What to Expect: Get a realistic look at the freelance world before you dive in, saving yourself months of trial and error.

  • Test Your Instincts: See how you would naturally handle tough client situations and learn practical workarounds from your peers.

  • Find Your Community: Being a solo worker can get lonely. This is your chance to meet potential study buddies, future project partners, or just friends who understand the hustle.
