The Green Jobs Market is BOOMING, But We Have a Problem

The latest Global Green Stocktake 2025 report fromย LinkedInย confirms that the race for a sustainable future is officially underway in the job market, and the data is striking:
๐ข ๐๐ก๐ ๐๐ฎ๐ฉ๐ฉ๐ฅ๐ฒ/๐๐๐ฆ๐๐ง๐ ๐๐๐ฉ ๐ข๐ฌ ๐๐ข๐๐๐ง๐ข๐ง๐ : For the second year in a row, the demand for green hires has grown twice as fast as the supply of green skills in the workforce (8% vs. 4%). This gap is a massive opportunity for professionals to gain a competitive edge.
๐ข ๐ ๐๐ข๐ซ๐ข๐ง๐ ๐๐๐ฏ๐๐ง๐ญ๐๐ ๐: Professionals who possess green skills are getting hired at a global rate nearly 47% above the overall hiring rate. Green skills are a valuable asset in today's tough labor market.
๐ข๐๐ซ๐๐๐ง ๐ข๐ฌ ๐ญ๐ก๐ ๐๐๐ฐ ๐๐จ๐ซ๐ ๐๐ค๐ข๐ฅ๐ฅ: For the first time, over half (51%) of all green hires are people with green skills in roles that are not traditionally "green". Sustainability is no longer a nicheโitโs fast becoming a core business skill across all sectors, from finance to tech to logistics.
๐ข ๐๐ก๐ ๐ ๐ฎ๐ญ๐ฎ๐ซ๐ ๐๐๐ง๐ญ๐ฌ ๐๐ซ๐๐๐ง: Interest is high, especially among younger generations, with 43% of all workersโand over half of Millennials (52%) and Gen Z (58%)โtelling us they would ideally like a job that contributes to the energy transition or climate.
The message is clear: businesses are hungry for green talent, and this gap will not close without urgent, coordinated action on training.
