Our program is an intensive 6-week virtual upskilling program designed to equip early-career professionals with the strategic risk management and technical skills needed to drive the energy transition in high-impact industries. The program comprises:

  • A total of 16 hours of self study and take-home exercise

  • 6 live expert talks (1 hour per session)

  • 1 interactive workshop

  • 1 presentation session

Scholarship

The APAC Green Skills Academy offers full scholarship to support participants from vulnerable communities. To apply for the scholarship, applicants are required to submit a 2-minute video to answer the prompts in the application form.

Please note that submitting an application does NOT guarantee selection. Selected individuals will be invited to an online interview for 2nd-round evaluation. The result of application will be announced by 6 November 2025.

Our Expert Contributors 

Carly Leung

Co-founder, Climate Incubator

Carly is a member of the UN Asia-Pacific Youth Advisory Group on Environmental and Climate Justice and Regional Youth Parliament on Climate Action (RYPCA), where she actively contributes to the advancement of these critical issues. Carly's passion and expertise extend beyond her advisory role. Recognizing the urgent need for a just climate transition, she co-founded the Climate Incubator. This initiative serves as a dynamic platform for individuals seeking to acquire the necessary skills and knowledge to effectively address climate change. As an incubator that empowers youth, she sets up Climate Incubator to foster collaborative learning, networking, and the development of green skills.

Jing-Syuan(Dory) Ruan

Head of New Business Development, W Renewables

Dory Ruan has been deeply involved in the renewable energy industry, with experience spanning project development and renewable energy procurement across Taiwan and Southeast Asia. As Head of New Business Development at W Renewables, she leads the initiation of new projects, from early-stage research and planning to project execution, driving the company’s strategic growth in emerging markets.

Shakti Ramkumar

Senior Director of Policy, Student Energy

Shakti is Student Energy’s Senior Director of Programs and an advocate for meaningful youth engagement and energy justice in the global transition. A skilled climate science communicator, she has grown Student Energy’s social media reach to 100,000+, expanded the Energy System Map to over 17 million views, and elevated open-source energy education worldwide. Beyond Student Energy, Shakti has represented Canada at the Youth4Climate Summit, contributed to the David Suzuki Foundation’s Clean Power Pathways Report, and mentored youth through Metro Vancouver Youth4Action and UBC Climate Hub. She is an alumna of Students on Ice and former Director of UBC’s Common Energy.

Gao Yiming

Energy Strategy Consultant, Blunomy Advisory

Yiming is a sustainable energy professional and strategy consultant at Blunomy Advisory, where he supports clients in developing strategies for decarbonisation and the clean energy transition. He has worked and studied across six countries, gaining a deep appreciation for the diverse perspectives and challenges faced in different geographies, particularly between ASEAN and Europe. Trained as an energy engineer, Yiming combines technical energy expertise with a strong interest in energy economics, markets, and policies. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from NUS and a Master’s in Renewable Energy from EIT InnoEnergy, completed across Ecole Polytechnique in France and KTH in Sweden. As an extension to his professional work, Yiming is also active in building energy communities. He founded Student Energy NUS, mobilising students to engage with sustainable energy issues, and now contributes to Lighthouse SEA, where he helps foster regional knowledge exchange and collaboration among young energy professionals.

Ru-Sen(Rusen) Wu

Director, W Renewables

Rusen is an energy project investment and financial strategy expert with extensive experience evaluating renewable energy projects. He is also highly skilled at creating innovative business models and leading teams to execute complex initiatives. Beginning his entrepreneurial journey in Japan, he brings a unique combination of international startup experience, market insight, and practical project evaluation, having led the development of over 200 MW of energy projects.

Ifeanyi Ohanyere

Guided Projects Manager, Student Energy

Ifeanyi is passionate about clean energy and sustainability and actively advocates for a just and sustainable planet. He believes that youth empowerment is a strong enabler of climate action. Prior to Student Energy, Ifeanyi worked as a sustainability consultant, helping organisations to integrate sustainability into their business strategy and communicating their progress by reporting in line with global reporting standards. Ifeanyi has made contributions to climate education through the Green Talk Series; a monthly conversation on the latest developments around climate change, energy and the environment. He has actively represented youth voices in high-level conferences, like the COP26, calling for increased youth participation in decision-making around energy and climate issues. Ifeanyi has a flair for capacity development and is a Student Energy Leaders Fellow, a UPG Sustainability Leader and a Climate Reality Leader.

Michael Nik Hang Leung

Senior Manager, Corporate Energy Solutions of CLP Holdings (China)

Michael is a Chartered Engineer with a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from Bradford University, School of Management, and holds both Master (M.Eng) and Bachelor degree of Engineering (B.E.Sc) from The University of Western Ontario (UWO). He has substantial experience in energy and power sector covering projects development and assets management, overseas investment, Merger & acquisition, and Power Purchase Agreements (PPA) across Asia Pacific, Africa, and South America for both government as well as commercial & Industrial sector. He also facilitates development of renewable assets in China as well as Corporate Energy Solutions including both Green Power Trading and Green Energy Certification (GEC).

Tejumade Adeola Adebari

Founder, GreenDataForce

Tejumade Adeola Adebari is a leading expert at the intersection of Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) and finance. As the Founder of GreenDataForce, she leverages her extensive experience in audit, financial reporting, procurement & business analytics to drive sustainable practices in organisations. With an MSc in Financial Analytics & Technology and a passion for building a more sustainable future, she focuses on building AI-driven ESG technology and training programs that optimize sustainability strategies and enhance business reporting accuracy.
